WHO WE ARE
Center for Advancement of Civil Liberties and Development (a.k.a. Center For Liberty) is a nonviolent direct action group and a tripartite coalition group of Concerned Nigerians, Adopt A Goal Initiative and Free Nigeria Movement. The group is being led by Nigerians who are dedicated to rebuilding Nigeria through fearless and purposeful citizens’ action against impunity, injustice and bad leadership throughout Nigeria.

  • To organize and mobilize the masses of the people towards a social and political paradigm shift in every part of Nigeria through a diligent pursuit of values reorientation, institutional reforms, social reengineering, street advocacy and non-violent direct action.
Our Believe
  • We fundamentally believe that Nigeria is in bondage and must be liberated.
  • We believe that the Nigerian people have been desensitized from the potency of direct action.
  • We believe that there is no uniformed understanding of Nigeria among the people of Nigeria.
  • We believe that the Nigerian people have been desensitized from the potency of direct action.
  • We believe that the vast majority of Nigerians are entrapped in ‘elite-thinking’ and ‘vassal-mindset’ and must be freed from them.
  • We believe that Nigeria is plagued with the impunity and lawlessness of the ruling elites.
  • We believe that the vast majority of the people are not socially and politically conscious.
Principles
  • ORGANIZING: The masses of the people must become organized all over the country as one indivisible socio-political force to resist elite and feudal hegemony..
  • CONSCIENTIZATION: The masses of the people must become socially and politically conscious to be able to resist mental and political enslavement.
  • DIRECT ACTION: The masses of the people must adopt direct action as a strategy for engaging political leaders and resisting impunity and bad governance.
  • NON-VIOLENCE: Our agitations and resistance will be defined by our resolve to remain non-violent and put our body on the line when necessary.
  • FREEDOM: We believe that all men are born free and must live without any social or political constraint on their freedom. We believe that the rights of Nigerians to life, freedom of expression, movement and assembly are inalienable and must be protected at all times.
  • SOCIAL JUSTICE: Our commitment to social justice for all the peoples of Nigeria and the world over shall remain absolute.
